The US Department of State warned all US citizens in Russia, advising them to leave the country amid the increasing tension between the United States and Russia.
Recently, the state department released a top-level travel advisory for Americans staying in Russia, warning all US citizens to leave the country immediately.
In the report published by the Gateway Pundit, it was revealed that the “White House warned of the potential for harassment and the singling out of U.S. citizens for detention by Russian government security officials. Just like the Biden administration does to January 6 Trump supporters.”
According to Reuters, the level 4 warning was marked as the highest of all alerts issued by the State Department.
“Do not travel to Russia due to the unpredictable consequences of the unprovoked full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian military forces, the potential for harassment and the singling out of U.S. citizens for detention by Russian government security officials, the arbitrary enforcement of local law, limited flights into and out of Russia, the Embassy’s limited ability to assist U.S. citizens in Russia, and the possibility of terrorism. U.S. citizens residing or traveling in Russia should depart immediately. Exercise increased caution due to the risk of wrongful detentions,” the U.S. Embassy said in the release.
“The U.S. government’s ability to provide routine or emergency services to U.S. citizens in Russia is severely limited, particularly in areas far from the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, due to Russian government limitations on travel for embassy personnel and staffing, and the ongoing suspension of operations, including consular services, at U.S. consulates,” the Embassy added.
The warning came a month after the Biden administration vocally expressed Ukraine by sending weapons to aid the latter amid its battle against Russia.
Earlier this month, Vladimir Putin responded, condemning the western tank supply to Ukraine, threatening the countries that he would respond beyond armored vehicles.
In the statement, Putin claimed that it was “unbelievable, but true – we are once again threatened with German Leopard tanks, with crosses on their hull. And once again seeking to battle Russia in Ukraine with the help of Hitler’s followers, the Banderites.”
“Those who expect to win a victory against Russia on the battlefield don’t understand that modern-day war with Russia will turn out totally differently for them,” Putin warned.
“We aren’t sending tanks to their borders, but we have the means to fight back and they won’t be limited to armor. Everyone should understand this,” he added.
