On February 23, the SBU, Ukraine’s counter-intelligence agency revealed that China has executed “hacking attacks on over 600 websites belonging to the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.”

Reports also added that Ukraine’s Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate and the Ukrainian Hazardous Waste Investigation website were among the country’s institutions that were targeted last February.

The SBU claimed the methods and tools used in the February 23 cyber-attacks were “consistent with the tactics utilized by the Chinese military’s cyber warfare unit.”

SBU also revealed that both Russian and Chinese hackers started their activity against Ukraine in the middle of February.

Moreover, critics believed that this indicates that the Chinese government allegedly had “prior knowledge of Putin’s invasion plan.”

In the statement released by the Ukrainian spy agency, it was revealed that the “Chinese cyber program’s CNE attack launched thousands of exploits directed at no fewer than 20 distinct vulnerabilities.”

At the time of writing, the British intelligence sources are currently investigating the alleged Feb.23 Chinese cyber-attack on Ukraine.
